I've seen nothing yet. Although it appears they're working on about a billion things right now.

We are really trying to keep it "close to the chest" but..... how about a little teaser of one of the turret designs?

Couldn't be any more money than what's out there already. Currently you can only get Texas in resin. And it's between $90-$110 for the Samek 1/700's, and ~$300-$325 for the Iron Shipwrights 1/350. This year, if all the anouncements hold true, and I hope they do. We'll get a plastic 1/700 from Blue Ridge and a plastic 1/350 from Trumpeter.Caesar Ho wrote:I concern the price!!

I still can't wait to get more on the Blue Ridge Texas though. being from Texas myself.

but I interested these US warship during the WW2And they should both be considerably cheaper than their resin counterparts. I'd be surprised to see the Trumpeter kit much over $100 if not cheaper, but depending on what the Blue Ridge kit comes with it could be close to the samek price of $100. They tend to put a LOT in the box like lots of Photo etch, wooden decks, brass barrels, etc.
I still can't wait to get more on the Blue Ridge Texas though. being from Texas myself.
I am NOT committing to any pricing, because I don't even know what it will be yet.... but.... it will certainly not be $100.00. It should fall right in line with other 1/700 plastic kits of the same size that are on the market.

Re: 1/700 USS Texas Plastic Kit from Blue Ridge Models
Good to know. Just going by what I saw for previous kits like the Nevada. But like i said those came with EVERYTHING you could ever want already in box. When you think $10 for barrels, $30 for PE, $20 for a wooden deck it's still a smoking deal.FreeTimeHobbies wrote:Hallis wrote:

But from what you said is it sounds like Texas may be a more basic kit. And i'm 100% ok with that too. Heck i've got a set of barrels I picked up for a Samek 1/700 Texas kit. Well.. I still have yet to buy the kit but i've got barrels
Thanks for the updates Brandon. I know that the cards need to be played close to the vest with stuff like this. I'm just crazy happy that it's going to be a reality.

Re: 1/700 USS Texas Plastic Kit from Blue Ridge Models
The difference is Resin vs Plastic. Nevada, Oklahoma, West Virginia, etc.... those are all resin kits. This will be plastic much like the Trumpeter Maryland or the new Flyhawk Derfflinger.Hallis wrote:

Ohhhhh... I didn't know those other kits were resin. Well then. mores the better! Hard to tell from the shots on the website. Resin on the Nevada is cast so good it looked like plastic to me!FreeTimeHobbies wrote:The difference is Resin vs Plastic. Nevada, Oklahoma, West Virginia, etc.... those are all resin kits. Brandon, I hope you have plans for a plastic Forrestal class (incl. Kitty Hawk etc.).
These seem to be sadly neglected ships.
