IJN 1/700 Akagi kits
Can anyone give me some advice on the best 1/700 Akagi carrier kit? I have the old Hasegawa kit but I see Fujimi has a newer release. Are there multiple versions of the Fujimi kit? I see a huge range of prices out there. Help. Thanks.

Go for this one: http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10114877, it's bout the best there is in 1/700 imho.
Fujimi make a 1/700 full hull Akagi, there are others, but they are variations of the one above, with PE, water bases, ans other ships.

i would agree that the new fujimi kit is superior to the 35+ year old Hasegawa kit.

In my opinion?FUJIMI is better than hasegawa? If I not miss your meaning ?fujimi has two type of Akagi?one is battle cruiser Akagi(but it just a plan in history? another is aircraft carrier ?theaircraft carrier has two versions, full hull and waterline).there is also a two ships version:FUJIMI band yamato and Akagi together.(It's a little cheap than you buy each one ).
I am not sure I can upload picture,I will try. this is the frist time I RE the topic.

Hi, cruiser163. Geno asked about carriers; I think most of us agree with your assessment.

Howdy, Y'all.
Isn't there a recent, or soon-to-be-released, Hasegawa Akagi? I don't know if it's a new-tooled kit, or an upgraded version of the old one. The original, with the added weapons set, was my first ship after returning to the hobby.
And, wasn't there a 3-deck Kaga in the works by, was it, Aoshima?
I'm putting together my list for Santa. He can scratch off the Tamiya Saratoga, because I just broke down and ordered it. That's so he can bring me an Ark Royal.
What a year for carrier fans!

The Hasegawa new-tool of the Akagi has been released.
The triple-deck Kaga in 1/700 is by Fujimi.
Fujimi is also doing a 1/350 Kaga in her full-deck version.
Remember, there's a reason I have my Upcoming Releases thread!

Hi all,
Short question: how to attach my metal wood deck on the plastic deck of hasegawa 201?
Should i sand down all pannel lins and than cement the metal piece from voyager or just attach it on the pannellines with presummably a gape?
Kind regards,
Henk
