Preshading hulls?

Hello,

I was wondering if any of you have attempted to per shade hulls, in the manner model aircraft do to draw attention to panels? It seems it may go some ways to breaking up the large areas and give us panels with less work than masking layers of primer or other techniques....

Yup. Plenty of us do exactly that, depending on the look we are going for. I did it to the Lincoln's hull seen here : viewtopic.php?f=59&t=153354&hilit=1%2F3 ... n&start=40

Yes....

For me, it's less about pre-shading panel lines and more about creating subtle vertical streaks to suggest undulations and weathering.
