Question re 1/350 Akagi Deck Dry Transfers help needed

Post by Peter H »

Hi Guys

I need some advise / assistance with the Dry Decals for the wooden deck on my 90% complete 1/350 Akagi. She has been "put aside" for a year or more because when I first tried to apply the dry decals some stayed on the wooden deck and some peeled straight off and were no use (ruined).

Is there a "trick" to this? I did all of my previous 1/35 Military with dry decals for several years and normally worked perfectly on plastic so I am used to dry decals.
I assume the wooden deck is not a good bonding surface? (I have NOT put anything like a sealer etc on the deck, its straight from the pack)

My Akagi is out of retirement now and I have found most of the un-fitted parts & have the rest of the dry decals to fit. I just need assistance, help! :-)

Thanks in advance.
