Yeeeeaaayyy!

Hi James, welcome back! I started to feel a little lonely with CVN on the forum. Looked like everyone shoved their modelbuilding-projects aside because it is summer, or something.
Good to see you`re still alive. It is too bad the image quality isn`t very great, but that flightdeck is looking pretty sweet actually! I love the new-style helo landing-spot markings.

I see Doug is watching closely too. I bet he is cooking up more ways to beat us all with his crazy skills.....I'm onto you, Doug!

James, you CVN is shaping up nicely! keep it up! How long 'til launching, do you think?

Cheers: Laci

Thanks guys. If anyone would like to make the main mast on the island for me I'd be extremely grateful. I have attempted it about 10 times now. This may be an islandless IKE. :Mad_5: :Mad_6: :censored_2:

Work continues on IKE. She will be finished by late Dec. The rest of November will be devoted to the ship and the airwing in December. I have most of the catwalk details added. Some fire extinguishers need to be placed yet. Moving on...

I love to see that one of the aircraft carrier models is moving forward :thumbs_up_1: .

You have made a beautiful work on the flight deck. Amazing. the more detail you add, the ship becomes more realistic. Only one question. Where is the missing right rudder

Congratulations

Jorge, when I find it, I'll let you know. Probably will have to borrow one from another Nimitz kit until this one turns up.

I have the Nimitz kit in my stash that I am going to build water line. Did you need a rudder? If so, what part number?

No worries. I have a spare from a waterline version I'm planning later. I appreciate the offer. :thumbs_up_1:

That's looking great James! The deck painting and weathering looks awesome. It looks like she's coming together very nicely sir. I keep wondering what it's like to work on the outside of the ship again.....I feel like I'm gonna be stuck in the hangar forever on my build. haha Keep up the great work James. Thanks for the photos...keeps me motivated. :thumbs_up_1:

Heeeeeey! :wave_1:

Another CVN making progress?!?!?!? AWESOME! May I can recommend a tripod or some coffee to get the blur out of your images?
I love the Belknap-pole and the flightdeck. It is too bad there is a deadline on this, there are some areas where a bit of rush can be felt, but all in all I would love to see this thing in real life one day!
You are going to complete an airwing in a month and a half?!?! Can you clone yourself another 4-5 times and lend the clones to me, so I can be producing airplanes at your speed?
I am super happy to see that another CVN is nearing completion!!! Keep it up James! :thumbs_up_1: :thumbs_up_1:

best of luck: Laci

James, very sharp looking carrier. The detail you have put into her so far is awesome. I do have to say that I noticed your USAF emblem and was surprised. I am retired AF and always thought I was one of the only former AF people that loves ships lol! Great work and looking forward to following your progress. Mike.

Doug,Laci,Mike, thanks for the comments. Getting over my fear of this major overhauled island for IKE, pressing on knocking it out slowly. The island has to be dead on accurate or what's the point? Progress on the island so far:

Wow, James, this island looks fantastic. I am so curious, what is the purpose of the led on the flight deck and the resistor in the bottom left corner of the photo?. Are you planning to light the island :thumbs_up_1: :thumbs_up_1:

Thanks. Yes that is for the island lighting. Wasn't happy with the brightness so I yanked out the wires and replaced the resistor with a smaller one.

Thanks Nicolas. Pales in comparison to your work. Well, the fantail is ready for that giant bumper thingy and I've given the hull a slight coat of future in preparation for weathering using artist's oils. The ship part is done with the exception of the goodies on top of the island and yes, that freakin mast that haunts me in my sleep. I allowed all of this month for the ship and I think it will take me the remainder to make the mast, then next month on to the airwing. Moving on.

Kind words from the master himself. Thanks Nicolas. Well, I finally was able to produce an acceptable mast. I like the shape just needs a bit of tweaking at the top. Moving on.
