Hi James!

This ship is shaping up VERY NICELY! The stern looks great. With the risk of sexual harassment: that is one fine ass! So far I think you nailed it! :thumbs_up_1: :thumbs_up_1:

You didn't get back to me with measurements for the mast, so I figured you are giving it another try. And here it is! And you know what? : You are off to a very good looking start. Like you said: You built those sponsons, but you can't build this? I am sure you can, I am still somewhat surprised that THIS is the part that gives you the most headache on a project this complex. You will do fine I am confident about that. I like the hangar lighting. Came out real nice!

All in all this is a very ambitious build, I love some of your techniques. Especially that flightdteck weathering! Your model is making the NEW NIMITZ look inviting to me. I never liked the new look, but now I do....I might fall into the same trap as you and Ryan, and might 'sentence myself' to building a bunch of CVNs...now I am starting to see that this the top of a very slippery slope...

Keep it up James!!!

Cheers: Laci

There ya go, the center piece is the hardest part. Did you end up carving it or making all four sides separately?

I made all four sides with internal braces. Carving was a disaster.

Thanks Nicolas. Made some progress on the main mast. Kinda rough still, have some railings to fix, and some to install yet. Lots of little bits still need added but I'm getting close to something.

Getting closer. I think I'll move on to something else on the ship's island and return to the mast in a day or two to get a fresh perspective on what it needs. Moving on...

Added more details to the overall island. Sat things in place to get a visual. Pleased with how straight the mast is. Just a few more SATCOM domes on top, some railing, and other minor bits....oh and the rigging. Can't forget about that. Although, I'd like to forget all about it....

Nice work! I like the WW2 era seaplane on the elevator too...
