Great stuff. The crane looks great - nice touch.

Good luck in your search blacman. OK, all aircraft and ground equipment are finished minus a few missile carts with Veterans AIM-7's. I have them temporarily placed on deck and I think I'm happy with the placement. I was hoping to use some 3D figures but apparently someone has cleaned out the internet of them. Go figure. So, I will use the Gumby Eduard ones instead. By this weekend it will be finished and on time for delivery to the State House in Columbus, OH.

Looking good! Ya know, I actually was very close to using Ike's crane artwork on Reagan's crane just because of the cool factor (but opted out for accuracy sake), I love that thing.

If you have not fixed them in place yet, it looks like you have the anchors installed incorrectly (unless Ike is different than the ones I have done), may want to double check.

Good eye Ryan. No they certainly haven't been glued in place. Nothing on deck has been permanently installed as yet. Just trying to get the bend correct and I think I forgot to follow up. Plus, I need to paint them gold as well and build the electronics for the LSO platform, plant a few crew members and this thing is out of my hair. I mean it's finished.

Much appreciated. So, all aircraft are attached and started on placing the deck crew. The AOA is a bit too steep on the C-2's approach but I didn't want try to fix and risk breaking something. Hey, there are good traps and bad traps. And now, time for a bunch of boring photo's! :woo_hoo:

Super job on the build James!!! That is really sweet looking man. I love all the detail you put into it. The deck painting and weathering turned out great. I love the just above the deck C-2 greyhound about to land.......nice touch. And the E-2C with the in-process of folded wings deploying......love it man. Your deck crane with the American Flag theme is outstanding. The island with the custom built mast and "IKE" lettering, all great attention to detail. Perforated catwalks, use of deck vehicles, various platforms with radars added, blue deck scrub barrels around the catwalks, the detail in the hangar, the list goes on. Way to make it all come together James. Simply just a great job!! :thumbs_up_1: :thumbs_up_1:

So, now that I'm able to sit back and relax a bit, I've had time to think about what I will take to the Nationals. It is one I had planned on doing but just not so soon after IKE, but, after parting with IKE recently I have this void. Well, I believe I will fill the void immediately with a Dessert Storm CVN-72. This time the air wing gets the bells and whistles and some other goodies. The ship mods are straight forward so not too concerned there. I have a few things left in my CVN spares drawer. Here is a preview of some items newly acquired but some are classified at this time. I'm in the planning stage of complete carrier lighting for both night and day and general quarters IF there is enough time. I have someone making the boards already.

Hi James!!!

I am super happy about another super-carrier being launched!! Looks like you put quite a bit of work into your IKE.
Of course there are things I spent 5 lifetimes correcting on my ship so those things jump out at me when I see they are not taken care of on other flattops, but the flip side of that is both you and Ryan do 4 CVN-s before I finish ONE!
I feel you rushed the weathering a bit, the rust spots are quite big for the scale.
But I love the landing C-2 and you did a great job on the rigging!! Busy flightdeck, nice sponsons, great job! Nice to see another CVN floating out there!

So you are building another 1/350 CVN?!?!?!?! Do you need any PE or decals?

Happy new year, and keep on building! :wave_1:

Cheers: Laci

Oh, I forgot to ask : Where did you get those weapon sets from?

Are you able to sell some later if my deal with those hungarians falls thru?

As for the weathering, based on some examples I've seen it's not too far off.

I'll send you guys a PM regarding the weapons. Whether or not I find enough brass for this CVN-72 project will determine if it goes forward or not. Looks like someone bought up all that as well. :Mad_5:

Whoops, made an error in my future CVN project. Not that it matters but for some reason I typed CVN-72 and I meant CVN-71. I have Starfighter's wonderful airwing decals for her. Still searching for brass, my stores are low. I'll give it two weeks then I'll move on to something else.
