I dunno, Greg, you forgot the sake cooler that goes next to the boat's helm.
Ok, this is getting a little ridiculous. You have to stop now.

No ribbing unless you plan to simulate canvas coverings. Otherwise, it takes away from those jewels. Don't even think about it.

I will make a trial with covers...Just to see how it looks like...Dan K wrote:No ribbing unless you plan to simulate canvas coverings. Otherwise, it takes away from those jewels. Don't even think about it.
I finished 17m motor boats:

Some small details still will be added.
During the normal operation when these boats were kept on spardeck, the rigging was not installed I guess... Any advice... ?

hello
thanks for nice comments...
I would like to finish her before Wroclaw Model Show...http://www.wroclawmodelshow.pl/
but time is passing by quickly...
main turrets ready:

Just to pain the rest of barrels and final montage...

Since turrets will be turned I decided to fix turrets masts after final arrangements. That way it will be easier to hang up the rigging I guess ...

Why pick Wednesday and Thursday for Wroc?aw Model Show? If it was during the weekend I would have come in but can't make it midweek

Actually it is on Saturday and Sunday...
It's in April - not March.
11-12.04.2015
I believe you can make it and you will come!
it's going to be quite nice number of "700" presented as far as I know...

Re: IJN Kirishima 1942 Guadalcanal 1/700 (Fujimi)
main mast in general done:

some small details will come on.
derrick for boats is done from 0,7mm bras rod. Kongo class had very nice distal end. I decide to make it. Since I don't have access to small tolling machine I decide to design it on piece of rolled PE

and that's the outlook:

derrick's rigging almost ready:

and highest platform as well:

Let's climb up...
Main joint for upper part:

and entire main mast ready. Still without the rigging. Just halyard for main flag done.

Now time to go through the unclear picture of Kirishima's main mast rigging
I guess the main mast was black somewhere from the midpoint - equal to the top level of second funnel. But halyards maintain in gray since there were moving up&down....
Does someone has pretty clear picture of Kirishima rigging in period '41-'42 ?...
Any advice for colors...?
