Mixing hull colors help

Hello everyone, I�m about to start a Tamiya 350 scale 1991 Missouri battleship and need help mixing the right colors for my airbrush. I�m using Createx and Wicked Colors primary color paints. Can someone offer me an idea to create the best mix ratio for the hull red and the grey. I have been playing with 40-red:1-black:1-white, but the color still seems a bit dark, maybe 50-red:1-black:1-white? My wife thinks I should use a drop of blue, I would test it all but I�ve been wasting too much paint.

I would order or purchase Life Color, Tamiya, or Modelmaster paints if possible. I've used Creatix brand paints but not for scale models because the vehicle in the paint is not right for a good build. I guarantee that you will be glad you did once you get a hold of a proper model paint. Try a Tamiya Hull Red and a few drops of Flat Red mixed in for your kit.For the grey order Modelmaster Haze grey for the year of your depiction of USS Missouri.
