Help with propellers,

I've currently got three incomplete carrier projects. 1/700 CV-4, 6 and 7. I get the ship finished up and then hit a roadblock with the air wing. I usually switch to a destroyer or something small before trying to delve back into the aircraft. Anyway I am attempting to get my air wing for all three finished up this month and I realized that the sprues for the Ranger's air wing are gone (cleaned up my shipyard, and realized it the day after the trash runs). They are all constructed except the props. So my thought is to do "working" props on them. However I've never attempted that, and was hoping for some advice on how to do it. Thoughts?

The blades of spinning propellers are not visible. See these pictures as examples of hundreds you will find on-line.

I tried clear disks - both shiny surface and flat surface - to try to simulate, well, nothing. That's what you can see in the photos. At the end of the day I chose to use just the hub (sufficiently rounded where the blades would have been as to look as though it is spinning. Your model, your call. Have a look at some photos of the work of someone who has used the P/E spinning prop to see what you think.
