Polish cargo boat "Helena"

Post by lothar79 »

Hi!

I have just started with a new project: a small cargo boat "Helena". She was built in 1872 and sailed until the Spring 1945 when she was completely destroyed and sunk by the Soviet artillery at her winter anchorage close to the place I live nowdays.
I try to create something from just few pictures and two sketches of very poor quality. I also hope, at the end of this journey there is going to appear something what resembles at least at some extent an old fashioned boat :)

Hi

My next project has been finished. I learned a bit more about rendering with Cycles. Additionally I made my first sails ever :) I hope you like the final effect.

Software used: Linux Mint 17.2, Blender 2.75a, GIMP 2.8.10; Inkscape 0,91r. As usually I used only the free software :)

Cheers

I'm really enjoying your work. I like the 'Real model boat' effect in the renders. The sails turned out nice. Maybe a bit of a bump map to give them a bit of 'pop'?
