Here is a link to an interview with Bud Liebenow, skipper of P.T. 157 (Aces & Eights), which rescued Kennedy and crew regarding the new book: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ESJWfbR ... e=youtu.be
Lets keep our fingers crossed that this is a balanced and objective work based on solid research and neither a hatchet job on Kennedy nor a hymn to his greatness. Considering that it helped to produce perhaps the best known President of the 20th Century, this event and the events surrounding it need a through examination using good historical methods. No matter your feelings about the man, whether as President or as a man, I'm willing to bet that if asked to name the U.S. Presidents of the 20th Century most of the Gen X'ers would mention Kennedy first. In fact, my lady friend's oldest granddaughter just named her daughter "Kennedy".
