Well my wife has got me set up now in the bonus room of the house since my accident and she bought me a new work station and storage rack. So here is the brand spanking new set up.

This is the corner of my studio where I do my models. The table off to the right is my palette area where I do my art which is my profession. I like to have lots of tables for the modelling.....an assembly table, a lay out the parts table, a finishing/rigging table. My surfaces are covered in heavy automotive glass so that I can keep them nice and clean and have a smooth, flawless surface for pushing PE around on.

Lest I be accused of not building anything, here's what I have been doing the past month (and moving the month before that!)





I haven't had my own room since I was a kid! Today I was finally able to paint my future hobby room.

Yesterday I even found my absolutely necessary for a man-cave fine beverage dispenser for cheap at a yard sale:



It needs some cleanup and paint, but it still works!

Soon fun things will happen here...

Hi Guys,
Just finished my new work bench, and wanted to share.
For years in worked on a small 2 x 4 folding table that was always 2/3 covered in paint bottles and boxes.
My wife generously relocated her computer desk for the space (guess it keeps me out of the bar )
My main motivation was the Big E I hope to start later in the year, still waiting some upgrade parts from L'arsenal and WEM.
My small bench was fine for 1/72 aircraft and 1/700 ships but not a 1/350 carrier.
Looking at the almost finished bench, I should have done this years earlier.
Still need to organize, but i'll do that during projects.

Lots of nice neat and tidy set ups here, I am having to work in the garage, purchased and moved into house last september and garage had some kitchen units in which have proved perfect for me [biggrin]

Cupboards contain car detailing items including micro fibres, wax applicators, Dual Action polisher etc... Nail technicians magnifying lamp which has proved invaluable with all the small PE on Yamato, and a bargain at �25



General man tools in these cupboards and my main work area, I open the cupboards and can then get my legs in under the worktop when I pull my chair forward, the chair is a mediquip type thing that was liberated from SWMBO's dad house when he sadly passed away, he used it for sitting at the kitchen sink.



General storage for things currently being used



Pantry Cabinet with reference materials, instructions, stash, tools, and storage for trinny issues until I start building her.








Rest of garage, shelves on the left with more car detailing supplies such as waxes, sealants etc.., big box on right still has some garden chairs waiting to be assembled and behind that wood for fire. Can also see my Pure Evoke DAB radio at a funny angle on the right, this is so it can pick up the wireless to stream internet radio [wink], its a bit sad but I am generally listening to 181.FM Kickin Country while I am modelling [biggrin]

I've always had a separate work bench for modeling. Over the course of my career we�ve moved 7-times. My original work bench wasn�t worth moving again so I constructed this �model counter� in our basement. Airbrushing is done on the left, model assembly on the right, and temporary parts storage in the middle. There are lights under each shelf and plenty of outlets above and below the counter. I built some simple shelves between the studding on the right for tools, brushes, etc.

Hi there everyone

Well first off let me say everyone's set ups are looking very nice, well planned out and creative use off space. Well, now for my little bit of news. My wife and I have purchased a nice piece of land and we are going to be building a new house in the next year or so. The wife wants a new one and she gets a new one. BUT!!!!!!

She is also planning for a self sustaining workshop for me, a two story building with the workshop being on the ground floor and the display and diorama room on the second floor. She has said that if I design it (Floor Plan / Layout) I can get what ever I want for it.

So, I am starting to work out a few design ideas and get a plan of action developed for the new slipway and shop which I am hoping will be completed by 2017, I know that the house comes first then the shop but once I get it planned out and finalized it is only a matter of putting hammers and nails together. Oh by the way................Yes, we have the house plans done, 5 bedrooms, 4 full baths and 2 powder rooms. If the wife is happy then we are all happy.

How do you have to take pictures for this site. All the pics I take are too large to upload?

You have to shrink them down using a program like Paint or use an external hosting site as instructed using Method 2 here.

I've used Tiny Pic http://tinypic.com/ for posting pictures here and other boards for years. It is free, pretty easy and durable (I have pictures on this thread from 2009 that still show-up, with out any cost to me). Just upload to the site from your computer, and select the size (message board) and paste the link to the message board (some boards have a separate line/section for pasting pictures).

It may get repetitious if you have a lot of pictures you want to post, but for three or five at a time works fine. I have no financial interest in this company
