I gave up on that project a long time ago. I am sure it was shelfed because two other companies already brought their top product on the market. It not always works to make the customer "hot" and wait, sometimes others are faster.
It is a shame since it looked promissing.

It would be a shame for Pontos to put this on hold then loose all the time and money they have invested because they waited too long.

I too am loosing patients. I purchased the Merit kit looking forward to the Pontos set when they first advertised it. But that was a year ago. As stated by Dietrich there are other top notch products out there. How much longer are you going to stall this product?

I wonder if Pontos is waiting for Merit or Trumpeter to release a USS Enterprise CV6 kit before they release their set?

Hi All,
As I mentioned before, this 1/200 Hornet has been just postponed.
Now one more design staff joined us so I have some more time for delayed projects.
So I have a plan to resume for finalizing Hornet from early next year just after 1/350 Yamato add-on set and 1/350 Musashi(Leyte version) full set.

I can't promise for the 1/350 Kitty Hawk(and same class) set.
But I can promise and tell 1/350 BB-35 Texas, 1/350 Missouri WWII, 1/350 Musashi (New tool Yamato based), 1/200 Rodney and one secret item as these are in finalizing stage.

Secret project? I bet it's a very enterprising product.

wow there must be a lot of new parts for a conversion of the new tool yamato to the musashi...
any previews on that Mr Kim? also on that note any previews of the advanced set for the yamato?

Secret Project?! I seem to remember there was mention a while back that Pontos was thinking of getting into the kit business. A 1/200 Sumner/ Gearing, Fletcher and maybe an HMS Dreadnought come to mind.

What about a 1/350 U.S.S. Yorktown/U.S.S. Enterprise (Merit) set or sets? I realize it would take much more than just scaling down the 1/200 Yorktown set, but I would think that the larger set would provide a basis to start from that would put you at least a bit ahead of the game.

Not meaning to ask dumb questions here but if PE testing is complete and the manual just needed finalizing almost a year ago what is the hold up? I'm looking at this kit I bought almost 2 years ago now waiting on this detail set and am wondering if it is ever going to be finished of if I would be better off purchasing a set from one of your competitors? I love the detail sets you produce but still want to start on this before I retire ( in 10 years) or I may not live to complete it. I get that there are other projects on the go, but as you can see here, there is a lot of interest in this one. Can you please finish this before you start another project since you are so close to being ready to go?

Hello Chris,

I have the same kit and been waiting as well. I bought the Tetra detail update set and was happy with it since no one else had one out at the time of purchase. Then Pontos came out with pics of their set realized that the Tetra on was not that great in my opinion (others may have a different opinion) when compare to the proposed Pontos set. It would be really awesome Kim if Pontos can finish this off and we can finally get on with building this kit.

Perhaps if enough of us let Kim know we are willing to give him our hard earned money he will restart the project. We can hope.

Problem may be that SH Park who done a lot of the work left Pontos and now designs for Infini models. Note how all the pictures of frets and completed sections disappeared.
I have bought several kits on the promise from Pontos that detail kits were going to be produced but those promised kits have just not appeared.

All projects have been released or will be released finally are arranged by me.
1/200 Hornet is left only deck details.
This will take 1 week and for editing instruction need 2weeks for net workign time.
Now stacked many projects but I would start this Hornet arrangement from this January.
