Yes... That is a problem. But only for those who are not fans of KanKolle, and the Kanmusu (Fleet Girls).

I hope that the anime gets another season, even if it is kinda war porn. I would like to see if the Abyssals really are just a Reactionary Type-cast of the Allied Naval forces during WWII. They hinted at this in the Anime...

Am I the only one who thinks the hull looks a little like the Kuma-class and Nagara-class CLs?

I know they are a bit wider, but the profile and bridge structure look very IJN CL-esque.

Given the part breakup, std version (except a possible SD version) may not come with the PE bits for crane/aircraft parts, which are already provided in plastic. So...there's a case for kanmusu version afterall, not to mention the game is a big factor in having these new tool kits released in the first place

Certainly; there are kits that would not exist if not for the popularity, in Japan and elsewhere, of anime, manga and all their spinoffs.

You know, about the only difference I see is in the Type ? Lantern in front of the bridge in the 1945 version.

I always thought the late Essex had too much variation between ships for injected, but then there is the larger scale Merit, so.

Well, FWIW, I'll tell you what I think.

1) If you are hankering for the whole class of ten DDs, it's certainly cost effective. You save about 35%, off the top of my head. (No separate deal on the kit specific PE, though.)
2) I think their Shiratsuyu kit is, while not perfect, the best of their DD kits, and certainly the best Shiratsuyu class kit out there in terms of both scale and detail.
3) Rainbow makes a superb, comprehensive PE set (includes barrels, each set is for two ships), though the bridge related parts are only good for the 6 square bridge (early type) sisters.

(late edit) Btw, the hull is strictly an early war version, so one will need to make or buy PE covers for the portholes of late war versions.

Odd to see only two new 1:700 ships (Belfast '42 and '59, both of which were already known to be on the slate); granted, Trumpeter has a knack for new announcements at any time of the year and pumping these out before things that have been in the catalog for years (1:32 TBD, anyone?)
Good to see some attention going back to subjects I figured they'd long-since moved past - i.e. the Littorio & Vittorio Veneto, Blucher, and up-scaling the Baltimore & Pittsburg.
Interesting to see 1:350 Fulmars, Swordfish, and Skuas, but no listing for the HMS Ark Royal for whom test shots have been floating around for a while now. Likewise, I see 1:700, but not 1:350, Bf-109s, Ju-87s and the like, but they only listed the Graf Zep-class carriers in 1:350.
I expect some good new 1:700 subjects to come. Wish they'd tell us straight-up what a few of them are, though; especially in light of this total flood of 1:350 announcements!
As for Hobby Boss... knew about the Dantons already; the Lord Nelsons are another shot out of left field but an appropriate companion for the French late-pre-dreads (Come on, USS New Hampshire and IJN Satsuma!) And Seydlitz - I'm all over that action!

Going through the Trumpy catalog on the other thread brings home how many PLAN ships they do. Not inappropriate, of course; I just wonder how much of a domestic market they have, or are they trying to build one?

But the number of 1/700 PLAN ships is also surprisingly low... Most of the 1/350 PLAN kits are old, some of them very old and badly detailed.
