Excellent detective work. Now, of course, follows the question "why did Flyhawk remove the image?" They did not remove the appropriate aircraft from the posting so why the carrier? Production issues? Did they find out that another company will be making one and so pull the ship release to cut losses?

Previous reports of an Aoshima Hermes are likely in error. It was probably Flyhawk all along. This is my guess but I cannot read Japanese or Chinese so I cannot confirm.

My hopeful guess is that it is to generate buzz for flyhawk. A mystery creates interest and a marketing technique. They may also want to make this one special as it would be, correct me if I am wrong, their largest full kit to date. The aircraft could be assumed by us as a typical Flyhawk upgrade for the recent Aoshima Ark Royal... etc.

Of course it could be for other reasons including just blotting it out at the last minute cause someone said, "Hey, let's do this for a fun tease." One might assume they did it as a whim, but didn't think about it too much.

What competition could Flyhawk possibly have?? There's no one else really that comes close to Flyhawk quality, and their kits are not much more expensive than the others'.

Aoshima does work on a Hermes kit, I was told today.

The Aurora kit can be made full hull or waterline. It arrived today and FH1127 also contains PE parts.
In Asia you get FH1107 and a separate PE sheetfor an unknown reason to me.

I see Flyhawk as the likely only manufacturer who will allow me to complete my HMS Gloucester line up. I want to do the WW1, WW2 and Type 42 versions, I have the former (Combrig) and latter (Dragon) but need the Town-Class WW2 version, and a Flyhawk one would be great! They really do seem to be working through the RN so maybe, just maybe...

I have just received my (3) HMS Aurora's from Hong Kong - and I am VERY happy with them, I can't wait for the 1940 HMS Penelope !

These "Arethusa" class cruisers and HMS Naiad are superb little kits and (one of them) should be judged the "best ship kit of 2015" !

The workmanship is so good that I really am tempted to ask for repeats in 1/350th scale.

I've just received the Naiad and agree it is a beautiful product. Flyhawk are a revelation and might see me drifting back to WW2 RN cruisers now - can't wait for the Penelope.

Dear friends at Flyhawk; I see on the "new plastic kits" thread on this forum that you are planning German WWII light cruisers. Thank you!
These ships are badly needed in 1/700th scale plastic.

May I suggest that Italian and French cruisers of WWII would be excellent subjects for Flyhawk. There are resin kits of most of these ships; but none in plastic in 1/700 and certainly nothing to match Flyhawk quality.
The most important ships to start with (that is, those that I think would sell ) would be these:
Italy, Zara class heavy cruisers
France, La Galissonniere class light cruisers
These are well-known ships which saw much action during the war; which is why I feel they would sell well enough to be worthwhile for Flyhawk to produce.

I encourage other forum members to suggest other French and Italian ships they would definitely buy (in addition to cruisers, I would very much like to have French aircraft carrier Bearn).

Well, I would also be interested in Italian cruisers (not so much in French ones).
Hmmm, Bearn, you say, that sounds quite tempting, though it never saw any action.
Nevertheless, it would be nice to have one in collection.

There are already Illustrious class carrier kits out there, what I would love is Implacable and Indefatigable and some early post war stuff, post war refits of the types the rest of you have mentioned, Colossus and Majestic CVLs, Battle and Daring class destroyers, early Type Frigates plus the AA and radar picket frigates and of course Vanguard.

Looking to buy Naiad and Aurora ASAP.
