Re: 1/200 USS NIMITZ - 2003
Hello everybody.
After a long time without posting, it seems that I will be able to spend a Little more time on this project.
I decided to finish (not yet but almost finished
) the HH-60 Helicopter that i had made several months before. Here are the pictures. I "only" have to finish the rotors and some details.
I hope you enjoy this Little scratch.

Thank you very much for viewing

Thank you very much Song. I have just finished the Seahawkwith a lot of headaches. The rotor is very small and I have had a lot of problems attaching the blades on it.
Anyway, here are a couple of pictures of the helo finished.

Thank you very much for viewing

Hello Jorge,
I just read through the thread, and every page contains unbelieveable scratch-building skill!! I am a beginner at scratch-building, and your work inspires me a lot to try making mine, but, BUT I can't find a place to start! It is such a complex model, also added by magnificent lighting works! I always had to remind myself that this is 1/200 scale and not 1/96, but it didn't help! Also amazed by the aircrafts you made! And the hull, hangar, boats, fantail, etc. are just...

Please, please keep more updates with photos coming!
Hats off to the master,
Aop

Re: 1/200 USS NIMITZ - 2003
Thank you very much Aop for your kind comments. I am currently working in the ship but there is a little information to add. I am adding weld lines to the hull, and some details in order to begin the hull painting.
I am also working in the Prowlers, and I think that in few days i will be able to post some pictures of them (I am waiting to receive the resin components in order to make the copies). And finally , I have almost finished the captains boat, so i will post phots soon.
I can only work a couple of hours a day because i have a lot of work (also I am studying to be promoted), and my family demands attention also.
I promise that in a few days i will post some pictures.
Thank you again for your comments and go ahead with your carrier

Re: 1/200 USS NIMITZ - 2003
Hello, after a long time without posting, I will try to continue updating my build a little bit faster
So here we go:
I am working on the hull adding a lot of details. This is a tedious task, because of the little rings that are attached all over the hull. I think their purpose is for safety reasons when the crew perform maintenancce tasks on the hull. Due to the rings are too little to replicate them at 1/200 scale, I have glued a little piece of brass where the rings are located.

I am also preparing the master for the future EA-6B Prowler. Here are a couple of images.

Thats all for the moment
Hope you enjoy these updates.

Re: 1/200 USS NIMITZ - 2003
Hello again mates, I am back
.
New updates on the carrier. As I posted before I am working on the hull details. A few months ago I purchased a mini-lathe, and I hadn't had the oportunity to work with it yet, because I was waiting for some accesories for it. So I have finally got this pieces and my first use has been the mooring bitts sited on the bow of the carrier.
Here are some photos of the process. I used a 3,2 mm. styrene rod to start with

The mushroom is finally done...

And attached on its place

That's all for the moment. Thanks for viewing

I have found that if there is a need for more than 1 or 2 of an item, I will make a very precise detailed part, mount it on some acrylic as a master and them rubber mold and resin copies. Have gotten quite good at making tiny resin parts working on a number of projects.

Thanks for the kind coments mates and thanks for the advice Heavens Eagle. I have followed this procedure for the other type of mooring bits, sited on both sides of the ship.

Well hello there Jorge!
What is almost as amazing as your extremely wonderful talent, is how I missed this build up until now!
This is one of the most impressive scratch-built ship I've ever seen!!
You don't miss anything, and anything you add is done beautifully!!! I don't quite understand how a build of this level can be completed in a lifetime, but you are doing something amazing my friend!!!
I'll be checking in on this from now on! Best of luck with the rest of this massive project!
Sincerely: Laci
