Hi,

can anyone suggests me some good gearboxes but not that expensive and not plastic ones please ?


I have a 385 motor.

Don't discount plastic, there's some good stuff out there, plenty strong (as well as some dogs). In a couple weeks, pick up a copy of the March issue of 'Ships in Scale', I have a lengthy gearbox review in there.

But my favorite in a 380/400 size metal box, for ease of mounting, reasonable cost, and quiet operation is the MAXX Products ACC4036, 3.3:1 planetary (2nd from right, bottom of page:

Which btw is very similar to the MP Jet planetary at the top of the page at:

But I think MAXX's may be finished a little nicer, my subjective opinion only.
