Infini-model 1/350 USS Yorktown CV-5 Detail Up Set

Post by Infini-model »

We would like to introduce you to our new product to be released after Yukikaze.

Our product ready for relase is 1/350 USS Yorktown CV-5 Detail Up Set, designed by S.H. Park

This product took over 4 months to develop due to a heavy workload. However, please feel free to let us know if there are problems we overlooked.

The set released this time has an optional Wooden deck (the Detail up set does not include the Wooden deck).

The optional Wooden deck is deck blue, but since favored color varies greatly and is subjective, we are releasing a deck blue color and regular color.

- The following are the components of the set -

[IM-535002R1] 1/350 CV-5 Yorktown Detail Up Set.

1. Photo etching - 11 sheets

2. Resin Parts - 4 ea (The anti-aircraft gun is injection + turned brass with PE parts, not resin)

3. Truned Brass parts - 190ea

4. Ancher Chain - 1ea

5. Instruction manual - 1

Hear is the pictures.

- Wooden Deck plate components -

#. Due to the wooden deck investment, an important part of the aircraft carrier, the measured price is a bit high.

It will be released in two colors, deck blue and teak tone.

[IMW-35001R1] 1/350 CV-5 Yorktown Wooden deck Set (Deck Blue)
[IMW-35002R1] 1/350 CV-5 Yorktown Wooden deck Set (Teak Tone)

1. Wooden deck - 1SET (choose between deck blue color and regular)

2. Photo etching - 3 pieces

3. Flight guide line masking sheet - 1 piece

4. Arresting Wies Lycra rigging - 5m

5. Instruction manual - 1

- Metal Screw -

The screw was developed in 3D design with brass because it looked too different from an actual screw.

It is only included in the initial limited edition and will not be sold once the supply runs out.

I will post some more additional pictures are taken.

Wow - looks great. I wish someone would make a set like this for the Trumpeter 1/350 Lexington.

Very nice looking.

One question: You say that the wooden deck is optional, but it looks like the brass flight deck parts sit down inside of the wooden flight deck. If you don't use the wooden deck (I'm not a fan of them) how does one use the brass bomb elevator, barrier, arresting wire?

I would really love to see a close-up of the .50 cal machine guns.

Hello Devin

Thanks for your interest in our product.
Wooden deck set included 3 Sheets of Photo Etching(palisades, 2 bomb elevators, barrier, water way, deck joint...etc) and Lycra rigging for arresting wires.
Flight deck pattern of kits is too over scale.
I will post some more additional pictures included water cooled .50 cal machine guns.

Ah, understood. Those PE parts only come with the wooden deck. Very smartly done. I may have to reconsider a wooden deck just this one time! I have two CV-5 kits so I will have to get at least one of your sets. The PE degaussing cables look excellent.

What a great looking set. Sign me up. When will it be available, and from whom?

Not to sound ungrateful, but I am hoping you will make the few modifications necessary for both ENTERPRISE and especially HORNET using the same Merit kit as a base. With this detail-up, many of us will finally get something we have been hoping for for a long time - an accurate model of these three pioneering USN ships.
I agree with Martin as well. If you could just sneak in an accurate deck and fittings for the wartime LEX, some of us would promise not to tell others who have been waiting for other detail-up sets for other famous ships. You could get to them first right after us.
Thank you - your secret will be safe with me.

(Adm Byng - that would be from "My Fair Lady" - fitting for Lady Lex, no?)
Some people make you happy, then they leave.
Others make you happy when they leave. (apologies to Oscar Wilde if he ever said anything similar, of which there is some doubt . . .)

Kelley,

I have just received some very high quality pics of this set and the area you reference. I will not steal Infini's thunder and post them, but you will not be disappointed! I am putting together a Pre-Order deal now, once I clarify a couple of details I will post them in the shop.
