Given Trumpeter's penchant for maxing out the use of common parts (yes we know the Blucher's hull was different!), my guess would be that the Blucher's hull will be the same one as either the Hipper or Prinz Eugen hulls, so will be split laterally.

Needless to say, I was more than a little confused until I could untangle the dyslexia.

The "de-specification" is probably a translation error, where the Japanese used something like:

Wasupu no specification de irasuto o Hanatsu (Wasp's released illustration specification).

I have seen a LOT of automated translations that screw up with Japanese articles.


But it looks like a pretty little ship.

Just saw more pics (mostly CAD's) of Bronco's 1/144 Chih Yuen. I have it in 1/350, and in larger scale is just more beautiful (if you like pre-pre-dreadnoughts). Comes with complete PE, so no real need for AM. Have to make space on my shelf for this one!

As far as I can recall the only 700 scale plastic kit for the Junyo/Hiyo carriers was the Tamiya Junyo. Has my memory failed me and is the Fujimi kit just a reissue?

Steve, you are correct about the Tamiya Junyo. Like it says, Hiyo is a "Completely new mold".

Agree on wanting to see more Kaislerliche Marine ships.

Especially a Goeben in styrene, which most probably will follow Flyhawk's Moltke release.

There are just a lot of subjects that have never been done in 1/350 that I think companies could take advantage of..

The Big 5, a proper Arizona...virtually everything from WW1 (the HSF and Grand Fleet)

Doesn't Iron Shipwrights/ISW produce resin versions of the Big 5 and the New Mexicos? If money's not an issue for a 1/350 "WeeVee", perhaps you should try Iron Shipwrights.
