1/700 Imperial Japanese Navy - picture blog

Post by Hen »

Hello fellow modelers!

Id like to introduce to you my personal blog about the Imperial Japanese Navy.

I am in the midst of building the Japanese fleet of WW2 in 1/700. I have collected almost all warship classes from small MTBs and river gunboats up to CVs, and a lot of auxiliaries and merchants to accompany them. It`s an ambitious project but I really enjoy it - hunting down rare kits and spanning a network of specialists and enthusiasts around the world is a wonderful pastime. Id like to take this opportunity to thank everybody who has contributed to my collection so far.

After several months of absence due to moving to a new home, I have recently uploaded the BB Ise in her summer 1945 camouflage, DD Sutsuzuki, the old minelayer Ashizaki and the DD Amatsukaze as she appeared in early 1945 with her bow blown off.

If you have any questions, comments, suggestions or kits that are missing in my collection, feel free to drop me a line!

Herr Hen,

Guten tag!

Thanks for sharing your blog!

I was wondering, do you participate in Tully's combined fleet.com forum or j-aircraft's forum?
"Haijun" means "navy" in Mandarin Chinese.

The anchorage looks great, Hen. I can't seem to find Amatsukaze, though.

Are you looking for its front half? It should be the first entry at the top...

Hey guys,

just a quick update among some more destroyers, minelayers and minesweepers I uploaded three oilers to my blog: the Shiriya (Pit-Road), Kokuyo Maru (Fujimi), and Ariake Maru (scratch).
