Right now I only see lucky model and freetime having these sets on their database....though its been on backorder for a while... does anyone
know of any other retailer that is carrying these sets at the moment?

I ordered my set from Lucky model even though it was on back order but they were quick to fill the order including an extra set (sells quickly) and send it out. I was quite happy with how quickly they processed the back order.

I got the same here, I sent them an email and I'm waiting for a response. Other than that it seems like a great piece of work. Did you get new barrels or nothing just yet?Brian 1 wrote:My set arrived today and I have to say it looked good until I inspected the main gun barrels. They are all drilled so off center that the bit actually came through the side wall on some of them, completely useless. Can anyone else confirm if theirs are the same? Its a lot of money to spend for that kind of quality.....
Cheers

They contacted me here via private message. They told me to check my smaller barrels too because some may be missing. I'm frustrated because Im working a lot and haven't had a chance to finish inventory, but I was missing a few of the smaller barrels from what I was able to inspect. I probably won't buy from them again, they should be doing quality control, not me....especially for the cost of the set.GewoonWouter wrote:I got the same here, I sent them an email and I'm waiting for a response. I can understand you. Then again, no company is free of mistakes and the fact that they contacted you and are going to set things straight is a plus.

Hello Keumho Kim, I sent you a PM concerning the defects with my contact info. I also inspected the secondary barrels as well and they appear to be off center as well.Pontosmodel wrote:Some customers have reported main barrels have wrong shape holes.

Mr. Kim,
What's the difference between the original Yamato Kit and the new V.2?

From what I can see it looks like they just threw in a wooden deck. The original did not come with it.

Mr Kim,
I just received your Yamato Add-on 35003F1 IJN Yamato 1945 set.
I am very impressed with the fine brass detail and PE.
Would it be possible to add a supplement to the instructions, so assembly of the guns, etc.. could be better understood? The sheets that are included are too vague and difficult to understand what goes where.
It would be better to have large line drawings of the part, so you know what the part looks like built. On some of the individual parts like the guns, you have many parts to assemble to make one gun, so it's important to know exactly where the parts need to be.
Your instructions look good, but offer no help to make assembly as easy as possible.
Please consider making supplement instructions that can understood better. Having eye strain with confusion on what to do is not what I want while building my project.
If it makes things easier, just post them here as a Pdf, so the ones that bought this set can download them.
Thank you for your time!

Hello Jim,
Check the bores of the main and secondary guns.
Few of the guys on here, including my self, noticed that the bores on our sets were off centre.
I'm still waiting for Mr. Kim to answer one of my emails and a post on here as to how he is going to deal with this.

Gerry,
Can't you just fill them in and re-bore them with a micro hand drill?
As for me, I have about 4 sets of main gun barrels, so I think that I will be ok.
I checked mine and they are dead center.
I got my original set a few years ago, so the drilling error could be only on the newer sets they made.
I just wish the instructions were more clear with 3D cutaway assembly drawings.

Usually the filler being used is softer and therefore the drill will the path of least resistance.
If you or anyone else have any ideas I'm open to suggestions.

I was thinking the same thing.DavidP wrote:if brass barrels then fill with solder before re-drilling.
Also epoxy would probably work too.

Re: Pontosmodel 1/350 IJN Yamato/Musashi Detail Sets (New To
redrilling is no option in my opinion...I paid more than enough for the complete set so one would expect to get the parts in decent condition. I'm handling it via the company where I bought the set but still no news...hope that's a good sign. I started my Yamato build but would be quite annoying not to make it to the gun assembly stage.
I agree on the instructions btw, they could be somewhat clearer and that would be welcomed very much...

Isn't the manufacture here asked to comment when we have questions? He's the one who started this thread up. How about participating?

It seems emails are not being answered either, received my Advanced Add-on set last Friday in the mail, was pretty excited.
Sent an email informing them that I only received 6 of the 25 25mm pedestals.
I understand things go sideways, but along with participation customer service is appreciated too.

Is that part #38?
I checked mine too and I have 24/25 of them. Are they all needed? I may just have to form a part to replace it if needed.
Pontos should be dating and numbering the sets, so if something goes wrong, it can be tracked and fixed at the warehouse level. It's too expensive of an investment to have problems right out of the box.
I'm getting pissed!!!
This dude needs to get his act together and offer to complete any set that is shorted.
I'd make him send us another complete set of brass to cover any missing parts!!! His loss! Not mine!!
WTF!!!

Will this pontos set work with the 2005 Tamiya Yamato or does it have to be the 'New Tool'?
