Tsarist torpedo boat Izmail (1-350) scratch

Hello.
I have been following the forum for quite a long time and finally I decided to show something from my workshop.

The first one is more than 100-year-old relic: Tsarist torpedo boat Izmail (No. 267.)

Some details about the ship:
He was the first built in the Russian shipyards sea-going torpedo boat (there were also Lachta, Luga and Narva after).
He joined the Black Sea Fleet under the number 17th in 1886.
In 1895 he was renamed to the No. 267th
In 1907 he joined the newly formed minesweepers team as "minesweeper No. 9" and he was in service until 1913. Then
he was removed from the inventory of the fleet.
Displacement 1973 tons, length 38.9 m, speed 17 knots.

Some information about the model:
It is 11 cm long and it is made of scratch with "junk" (a bottle of wine for the one who know any shop offering the model like this )

Izmail was too small to use a classic frame with plating so I had to improvise. I filled the spaces between
the rungs with acrylic car filler. Then I used filler Revell on it as a primer for Surfacer.
The wheelhouse with an observation deck and aft deck I built from plate of cans of beer.
Railing pillars are made of resistance wire 0.1mm. Other stuff is some fishing line and some copper wire.
As you can see the construction on the photo is still not completed.



For the next two weeks I have made large parts.

After large parts, there was time for small parts.

First - equipment of the prow.
The photos are not so good. I still need to practice.

I admit that with small air vents of fans I achieved current limit of my abilities.
Now I just clean of excess of glue - and time for first layer of the primer

Here you have rigging (for now stretched only tentatively) and two primary colors.
The second picture lies a little - the hull over the water is white, but I was not able to set white balance.


Slowly the construction is coming to the end.

And finally - "polonica"
The first commander of Izmail (years 1886-1892, the Black Sea) was a lieutenant I.A. Wenicki.
Pole was also the commander (in the years 1887-1889) of sister torpedo boat Lachta - captain 2 rank Michal Niewinski
(He participated in the Russo-Japanese War in the rank of Real Admirl)

Very nice little build! Try putting your camera on a tripod and close the lens to the smallest aperture, ie. f32, which requires very long exposure (maybe 4 - 5 secs, or more). Your models will be in sharp focus (depth of field) from bow to stern. A cable or remote release would also be useful so you don't actually have to touch the camera to avoid or reduce camera shake.

I never learn anything about taking pictures! That's a nice tip. So, what would you do on the camera to get the smallest aperture? I always get the bow of the ship sharp, and the stern of the ship very blurry, or vice versa.
