It's part of the "Next" lineup so snap fit and molded in multiple colors.MatthewB wrote:Is this a new 1/700 Akagi?

It says they are taking new orders, and is a "New Mold."
Does that mean that the extravagant $100+ PE set that is available for the Akagi won't fit this one?

Re: *Inj. molded plastic* Upcoming Ship Kit Releases
Meng has announced 2 1/700 plastic kits (snap together kit pre-moulded in colour similar to Fujimi's kan-next) in a model show in Beijing today:
HMS Nelson 1927 (as commissioned
USS lexington CV-2 late war (I think it's more of a decision based on the colouring nature, as dazzle wouldn't be possible then)

Thanks. Unless they release a whole bunch of them at the same time, I imagine Moltke might be fairly far away. They announced a lot of stuff.Timmy C wrote:No set standard, Mikasa. It depends on the company and how they announce it. For example, when Trumpeter announces an item in their annual catalog, the item may not come for another year or two. Yet, if they were to announce it on their website's "New Items" section, you can expect it in two months.
Flyhawk hasn't released enough subjects yet for us to make a determination on when the release date will be based on the context of the announcement. They're also a small company, and more subject to variation in expected arrival date even if we did have sufficient past experience to make that estimate.

You can bet on that,Molke will take long time, I'm still expecting the release of the Gin Palace( aka Agincourt) ,that Flyhawk announced about 2 years ago.mikasa wrote:

Oh man, don't say that! On the other hand, I would love to have a model of Agincourt. They are doing that in 1/700? Or they have said they are?Miguel wrote:You can bet on that,Molke will take long time, I'm still expecting the release of the Gin Palace( aka Agincourt) ,that Flyhawk announced about 2 years ago.mikasa wrote:

Not just announced, they even produced a test mold but due to some issues it's totally scrapped - so it's going to be another brand new tooling if/when it's done.mikasa wrote:

On other news, Trumpeter in response to Meng has announced a 1/700 Nelson
Looks like Golden Age of RN in the Divine Scale is upon us.

Trumpeter's 1/700 Nelson was announced earlier this year in their catalog (see my list in the first post).

No, they only had it listed in 1:350 previously (And yes, I did just check the list again to be sure.)Timmy C wrote:Trumpeter's 1/700 Nelson was announced earlier this year in their catalog (see my list in the first post).

You're right, my bad. I guess it's a good thing there are so many variants and kits coming out that I get them confused.

Several additions to Fujimi's 1/700th EASY range are in the offing:

The 1/700 scale Nelson may not be in Trumpeter's catalog but John Snyder alerted me to the fact that it is shown on their Facebook page.

Meng make great 1/35 armor models - a snap-together 1/700 kit from them is a bit of a disappointment!

Flyhawk just released an upgrade set from Trumpeters 1/700 Queen Elizabeth and Warspite. They seem to have added a Supermarine Walrus aircraft from their coming Royal Navy Aircraft SET 2!
Hopefully they will release the entire set of R.N.A.S 2 pretty soon.

Re: *Inj. molded plastic* Upcoming Ship Kit Releases
It seems an odd mixture of extra parts :4 hull parts, elevating main guns, and simple superstructure. But maybe that is simply the CAD.
I assume the 29 next to the name indicates fit is for 1929.

Was that Flyhawk? I thought it was some other (previously unknown) manufacturer?
