Great attention to detail, especially the battle damage, which is a pain to reproduce in this particular scale with great results - which you did achieve [as expected, ehehehe]!
Keep up the masterly expertly marvellous good work

Many thanks MB! That's indeed the atmosphere I'm trying to set. The ship is to me also a symbol of how too much arrogance of a once powerful empire has led to its' fall.MatthewB wrote:That such beautiful and powerful ships were built.... This diorama is a powerful statement to that tragedy, and waste.

Many thanks Rui! The battle damage was actually really fun to do! It did take quite some studying of the photo's and plans of the real thing, but also a bit of gizmology as not every side is visible on those photo's. I'm looking forward to the next bits of battle damage, which will follow pretty soonRui Matos wrote:Great attention to detail, especially the battle damage, which is a pain to reproduce in this particular scale with great results - which you did achieve [as expected, ehehehe]!
Beautiful work so far. Do you know what is supposed to be represented by the tangled grid hanging over the elevator well? At first I thought it might be a radar screen, but the deck-level one she carried was farther forward. It also looks like a bamboo frame that the Japanese often wove for camouflage supports. In either case the only criticism I have at this point is that the grid that you have is too straight and uniform and should probably be more random in pattern.
