This is probably my most anticipated kit in a long time. Too bad I will not be able to get it for a little while.

With an advertised $41 discount you could argue that by buying the Dunkerque now you are actually saving money.

I tend to find that the best price for models originating from China occurs at least 6 months after release.

Those are resin kits. The new release (in Dec) is plastic injection kit (2 ships in one box).

I could swear that I saw a Hasegawa release of a Tatsuta and Tenryu kit in 1/700 that includes Photo-etch (The Instructions even include when and where to install the PE along with the plastic parts).

I think I saw it on Hobby Sear yesterday, but now I cannot find the links.

This is a different kit! It only includes the Type 052C. This is an older resin kit available for many years.

The new kit is a plastic kit, which contains two models: one Type 052C and one Type 052D. To my knowledge this is the first 1/700 kit of the Type 052D.

You don't like the Graf Zeppelin in smaller scales like Revell's 1/720 kit?

The Revell kit is basically OK, but has a lot of fit problems, and its aircraft are lacking in detail. Plus, it would just be nice to have a full 1/700 Graf Zeppelin, which it looks like Trumpeter will be doing down the road.

... And then there is the new resin kit from Orange Hobby.
Anyway, as I also hope of Trumpeter downscaling the 1/350 to 1/700, lately it seems that this process takes quite a while in Trumpeter.
For instance, the 1/350 Belfast was released in 2013. and I think the 1/700 version had been delayed for around a year now, or even more.
For quite some time the release date (or at least a quarter of a year) is not any more shown in release tables.

Yes, and since it's 1/720, it's probably a repop of the old Italeri kit.
