'Anybody interested in non-computer 'virtual ship modeling'?

Like with pencil, pen, paintbrush, airbrush...canvas, hardboard, paper...

...'y know, nautical art...?

i used to be pretty good at drawing side profiles of ships. when i vacationed along the coasts i would draw profiles of ships passing by, when i was landlocked i would just make up my own ships! however nowadays i'm not very good, and dont draw that often.

Nice work Roman.

As far as non Computer Art goes. Check out the work of Michael Taylor and Dan Jones. Mike's stuff can be seen on his website. Dan's used to grace the covers of PSM.

I really like the Yorktown and the planes. Did you do them from pictures or just from mental image?

Probably a combination of photo's and models. It's been a while.

I tried such drawings and somehow I can match such scenarios and drawings in my visual mind, but never succeed on putting that on paper!

I do love to draw ships' side and top views etc. But never in good perspective.

Thanks, I prefer plan and profile myself. That is why I love CAD.
