Meet you here again, :)
Is that date based on Trumpeter's information? Woo...I had better buy Hasegawa 1/350 Junyo now.

S-Model releases a new 1/700 plastic kit of the

Chinese Type 052C class destroyer Lanzhou
and

Equipment for PLA navy ship set.

This is the second announced plastic kit of the Type 052C: also DreamModels announced one (a kit containing both Type 052C and Type 052D). There was also an earlier resin kit of the Type 052C by DreamModels.

Just saw a Trumpeter release on Facebook: 1/350 HMS EXETER and HMS YORK, not sure of scale.

Trumpeter catalog on Facebook 1/700 scale anouncement :

Rodney and Nelson, John F. Kennedey, Constellation and Kitty Hawk , Ark Royal, CV 6 Enterprise, CV 5 Yorktown, Texas and New York, Graf Zeppelin.

A lot of new stuff which Trumpeter have done in 350 already.

Hope they will do them faster than the 1/700 HMS Belfast :cool_2:

One has to assume the 1/700th scale CV-5 and CV-6 kits are reductions of the new Merit kits, which will be interesting. Hopefully they're closer to scale than the Tamiya offerings.

The real interesting thing, though, is they're also listing a 1/200 scale CV-5. Now if that's using their Hornet 1/200 scale hull, then it's of no interest to me at all. BUT, if that's an upscaling of the Merit 1/350th scale kit? Then I'm in trouble.

Looks 1/350 scale to me: Ye-ha An Exeter and a York, close sisters. Maybe we are heading towards a Dorsetshire and a Perth. Still waiting for a Sheffield.

Added to this the US WW2 cruisers, that's some 2017.

If not already mentioned Aoshima has the 700 scale HMS Victorious listed on Hobby Search for March. Shades of the old days when they also did the two sisters. The Illustrious is available for preorder on Hobby Search.

Too right, ever since I made the 1/500 Frog model. I wonder if Trumpeter will go into detail as far as difference in beam and AA outfit? I note they have the bridgeworks and funnels pretty well depicted in the artwork, so far as I can discern from the small jpgs available.

In the catalog it appears the RN cruiser pics are photos as are the Belfasts and the USN cruisers. The only new cruiser shown with artwork appears to be the Zara. Is there another link that shows artwork (box art for these kits)?

This might help:
https://www.facebook.com/TrumpeterModel ... =3&theater

I'm not an FB fan, but there is enough to go on here, I think.

You will have to go to Page 64, where the new cruisers are to be found. When you get the first page you will see a '+16' option, select this and page on to P.64
