Hi Paul,
I recently purchased the RG-3L-3 with the 1mm needle. I was surprised it didn't include the 14-1 Air Adjustment Set. As your video showed there is simply a cap at that location. I've reached out to Anest Iwata USA to see if they sell the 14-1 Air Adjustment and if they had any recommendations for controlling the air pressure at the gun. I've noticed in your video that you use a valve with pressure gauge at the gun. Do you have one that you recommend?

I think this is going to be just the ticket for painting my larger models. Thanks so much for all the helpful advice.

Dave, That's just a common gun gauge ... there are a lot of them out there, if you have a local autobody supply store that sells spray guns etc, they could recommend a good one. But for the RG-3, it's not that critical, your gauge on the tank would be close enough. It gets more critical when you are using an HVLP gun like the LPH 80.

The model doesn't have to be that large, you'd be surprised how useful the RG-3 is. The hull in my video is just the Trumpeter San Francisco ... just an inch longer than a 1/48 f-101.

By the way ... the air adjustment set is only for adjusting the fan pattern, not the pressure to the gun (you may already know that, but I wasn't sure from your post).

Thanks for the feedback Paul. I heard back from Iwata on the valve. They didn't say anything about it being for fan adjustment. No matter, I trust your feedback. They provided the part number but it's around $70 which seems pricy to me. I like air control at the gun but I'll give it a go without the air pressure gauge and see how we do.

Dave, I think you got someone who is a bit challenged ... probably because they sell so few of them.

For any gun, the airflow to the entire gun is always located at the green arrow, the red arrow is always the separate fan pattern adjustment as you can see on the G-6. The RG-3 just has an open hole in the forward part of the grip.
