Airbrush clogs

Hello All,

I am spraying MM acrylic paints and when using the small needle/nozzle with my airbrush I am having problems with clogging.....even when I thin the paint I can only spray for a short time before the clog prevents me from continuing.

Can anyone suggest a retardant that would help? I live in a rural area and the only 'paint' store near me doesn't carry anything to solve the problem.... I would like to find a source on line where I could just order a product.....but I am not sure what I should look for.

Can someone offer a suggestion as to a product to help?

If you're using an Aztec airbrush....that's your problem! :wave_1:

The problem is your combination of small airbrush and acrylic paint ... equals tip dry. Unless you're doing some really fine lines, you shouldn't be using an airbrush with a small nozzle and needle. You might save yourself a lot of frustration and give my series a watch ...

Paul.....thanks for the link and your comment on NOT using a small nozzle and needle..... I'm new to airbrushing and due to my inexperience I just figured that a small nozzle/tip was workable with acrylics.....maybe that small combo is best for enamels..... I'm not doing any fine lines but was hoping to 'gently' blend one color into an adjacent one.....my hope was that the small nozzle/tip would reduce over spray......

I'm finding this dual action airbrush quite a learning curve.....
