Austro-Hungarian torpedo Boat reference question

Post by mistairjoe »

I am working on an early Austro-Hungarian torpedo boat TB -33 in 1/25 scale. I have decent plans but no reference photos of any kind especially regarding hull sheet metal construction for detailing of the hull. Do not know of any books out there than the one I already have in German. That has some photos but no close ups of any kind. Would appreciate any help.
Thanks,Joe

Apart from going to specialised fora in Austria, you can check the picture archive of the Austrian National Library: https://www.bildarchivaustria.at/

I didn't check in my library, where were these boats built, in England or in Germany ? There may be similar boats from the same yards built for other navies from which you could deduct the respective building practices.

You could try, Franz F Bilzer-Die Torpedoboote der k.u.k.Kriegsmarine von 1875-1918.
It is Bussard Tb-33 1886 Sperber class boat. The book has 5 photographs and the plan of this class of the ship. Still, these photographs are not sharp .
Sperber has been built in Germany, Schichau.
Bussard has been built by Seearsenal.
Good luck!
