I bought a Lexington as my first USN WWII Carrier, but wanted an Enterprise from 1942 at Santa Cruz.
I hope that a PE Detail set for it isn�t long in the wait.

The USS Iowa from Very Fire in 1/350 is pre-July 1943 fit, almost as commissioned during her shakedown cruise. Note that the model is missing the searchlight in front of the forward secondary director, for example.

The missing search light is very important. The fit is limited to one month(even less), and according to photographic evidence she didn't even had radar during that limited time she was almost incomplete , she is actually a pre-March 1943 fit before she was inclined at Bayonne Navy Yard in New Jersey on 28 March 1943. Curious choice from Very Fire, almost like a mistake.

But it has the three 20mm on Turret 2. That, plus the artwork, would suggest they're aiming it more for the late-43, early '44 period. Any errors should be measured against that objective.
It looks like the model suffers from the same mistake USS Alabama had from Trumpeter, a very narrow time frame with mistakes/items from later periods or total wrong details. Almost haphazardly.
But as Rick E Davis said lets wait and see the final product.

I thought on the Iowas that the straking stopped where the Armor-belt was.

I've given the VeryFire guys a shout with a link to this page of the thread. The searchlight can be as simple as a particular piece of the 3D model not selected for the render.
UPDATE: the "missing" searchlight is indeed in the kit.
