Is the Doyusha Enterprise just a repackage of the Academy kit? Looks like a good Midway fit out of the box. Not my scale but always nice to see the Big E getting some love.

Yes, Doyusha sells a lot of Academy's new stuff for the Japan market.

Very Fire's releasing a "easy" version of their 1/350 Missouri at a reduced price - it replaces some of the PE parts with plastic versions: https://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10549726
Might be good for those who hate PE, or those who are looking to use 3rd party upgrade sets anyway.

Nice move, thats the release for me. I hate PE. BUT, Timmy I think this is going to be the definitely regular edition and somehow the PE full release will be on a limited run.

Looks like the 1/350 Montana has been confirmed with a potential release in September?

HMS Dorsetshire Bismarck Pursuit from Aoshima now on Hobbysearch.
https://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10554188
Includes four RAF/FAA aircraft and a couple of U-boats. And some fuss about 0.5 quads, 20mm Oerlikons and eight-barrel 2pdr which I didn't quite grasp.
The earlier Dorsetshire is out already

Seems to be saying that those weapons will be from Finemolds' existing line of aftermarket parts - great news, if so, as they're by far the best plastic renditions of those weapons around and better than anything Aoshima's been able to produce.Guest wrote:And some fuss about 0.5 quads, 20mm Oerlikons and eight-barrel 2pdr which I didn't quite grasp.

I was really looking forward to this kit until it turned out to be under scale at around 1/720-1/730. Now I'll just wait on the Flyhawk release instead. Very disappointing, the same thing happened with their USS Wasp release.Guest wrote:HMS Dorsetshire Bismarck Pursuit from Aoshima now on Hobbysearch.

I have the HMS Dorsetshire `Indian Ocean Raid` kit and it looks pretty nice in the box. I had already planned to use the Fine Molds Nano Dread weapons to replace the kit weapons. Add some photo etch and replace the masts with metal rods, and I think it will look great. I really cant tell that it is undersized. Wow, we now have a plastic County Class Cruiser, thank the ship Gods and just build it and hope that Aoshima will issue HMS Cornwall! Accept that the glass is half full.

Sorry but glass half full is a waste. Already have the old HiMold and to me it looks better. I was hoping for a correct sized well detailed kit. This is not it. I will continue to wait as I don't support companies when they do sloppy work. Just my opinion.

Re: *Inj. molded plastic* Upcoming Ship Kit Releases
Yes if you display it alone I guess you wouldn't know it was undersized, but displayed on shelves alongside many other 1/700 Royal Navy ship models is a different story. If it was the only County class cruiser kit available I might go ahead and buy it, but with one on the way from Flyhawk that will probably be true to 1/700, there's no reason for me to settle for an under scale kit, so I'll wait for that one.Richard Durham wrote:I have the HMS Dorsetshire `Indian Ocean Raid` kit and it looks pretty nice in the box.
