goods received and everything went well !
this gray resin seems better than frosted ultra to my eyes ! (smoother surface) and seems to be truly less expensive.

Steve, will you be doing 1/350 North Carolina funnels in gray resin? I'll need two sets. Thank you.

With the new material and process, is it possible to bring the anchors down to 1:700? Looking at the molded-in anchors on an Italeri Forrestal right now, and they're rather lacking...

Hi Sean,
I'm afraid not. 1/700 is just too small for anchors, even for this technology. But as soon as the tech is ready...
As always, thanks for your patronage and encouragement!

These look great! Did you buy a printer or do you have another 3rd party printing source?

I'm jealous. I wish I had the cash. Shapeways' quality is going downhill fast. Good for you making the technology work for you!
How thin can you make the splinter shielding?

Re: New material, gray resin, now available from Model Monke
Steve, Portland emerged from her MAR-MAY43 Mare Island NY refit with a new forward fire control tower. Indianapolis duplicated that forward fire control tower in her MAR-MAY44 Mare Island NY refit. With that new fire control tower, both Portland and Indianapolis can be accurately built in the beautiful Ms 32/7D camouflage pattern. What's the chance that you can do this change in 1/350 gray resin? Thank you.

Thanks Bob!
Regarding the splinter shielding thickness, the thickness depends on a number of factors. Is some circumstances, but not all, 0.3 mm is achievable. Features that are too thin can suffer from malformation. The cleaning process can also be hard on thin features, dissolving them.
Hi David,

For Bismarck and Tirpitz fans, here are 1/350 scale 38 cm turrets with blast bags and open rangefinder hood shutters with rangefinders within. Turrets with open rangefinder hoods can also be printed in 1/400 scale.

Re: New material, gray resin, now available from Model Monke
Thanks, Steve, for your PM regarding the Portland/Indianapolis forward fire control tower. I'll try cutting down the "walkaround" on your 1/350 1942 Portland and adding the necessities shown prominently in Steve Wiper's Warship Pictorial 10, pp11 and 48. Best wishes, David
