The ships were built between 1970-1973: ARDEALUL, MUNTENIA, MOLDOVA, BANAT, MEHEDINTI, VRANCEA, ISTRIA.

Displacement: 406 tonnes/maximum 472 tonnes /normal 435 tonnes
Lenght:61,50 m
Beam:11,30 m
Draught:1,70m (maximum)
Speed: 18 kn
Power plant: two Mercedes Benz Maybach 820dbm (820 hp)
1200 pasengers (Bureau Veritas)
designer: roumanian freelancer engineer Sergiu Filipescu
Bldr: Oltenita Shipyard

Soviet gunboat BKA-31 was discovered near Stalingrad (now Volgograd). She has T 34/76 tank turret.

Over 70 years have passed since the end of ww2 and there are still mines on the Danube!

Romanian river ships during an exercise in June 2019.
It was an excellent opportunity to test the new engines. The old roumanian engines have been replaced this year with south korean Doosan engines.
