Hi, does anyone have those propellers in 3D printed form, or can advise me on a good method to scratch build a propeller? They are three bladed.
I lost a propeller to my 1/350 U-boat and kinda stuck on finishing this otherwise very fun build.
Need help building propeller for U-boat in 1/350?

What material, plastic or brass ? In both cases there are different strategies and techniques.

Whichever is easier to be honest. What would you recommend and how would I do it?wefalck wrote:What material, plastic or brass ? In both cases there are different strategies and techniques.

I have all the plastic parts, rods in various thickness and plastic sheet.DavidP wrote:go plastic as is easiest at that small size. do you have or can get a plastic rod of about the same diameter or maybe a bit bigger for the hub of the prop? do you have or can get sheet plastic of about the same thickness as the prop blades?
I also have the original (starboard side) prop which can be used as the template (with reverse placement of the blades, I suppose).
My main issue is getting the tip of the prop smoothed out correctly, but I suppose it is not THAT hard.

? I have no idea, but I think we can assume a 0.3mm plasticard would be ok... why you ask?DavidP wrote:what is the thickness of the blades themselves?
