Hi, Does anyone know where I can obtain drawings of an Inshore Minesweeper Ham Class.
I would like to build a model but cannot get the hull shape right.
The superstructure is no problem but the hull is difficult. I served on XSV Portisham for 22 years and now I am retired would like to build a model to remind me of those happy memories.
Many thanks.
Graham.

Re: Ham Class Inshore Minesweeper.
I have a scan of one (reduced for forum posting)...

Ham Class minesweeper 600dpi reduced by Andy L.J. Ford, on Flickr
If you need the full resolution please PM me. The detail isn't great, but at least there are sections which could be assembled into something like a body plan.
I'm also a huge fan of the Ham class
, although I never sailed in one, and I'd like to see your model when it is finished!
My interest is in making 3D virtual model, for use in PC simulation (Prepar3D), which can be sailed around or flown over. For this purpose the drawing I have is sufficient, but otherwise I'd go looking for original plans from the National Maritime Museum.
If anyone has any Ham class material and is willing to share please keep in touch. Likewise I'm happy to share anything I find.
All the best
Andy

Interesting post my friend as my dad was in the RNXS and sailed on the XVS Thakeham out of Gillingham as an engineer. Basically a part timer until she was scrapped, theres one very similar in private hands moored up on Thunderbolt Pier.

i own and live on Portisham. I have lines drawing, a bit tatty though. The best I can do at present is a photograph, but I could get it scanned. Do you have any way of printing at a decent scale ?
