The Norfolk box art shows an undamaged Norfolk broadside to broadside at biscuit-toss distance from an undamaged Scharhhorst. This may not be historically accurate. At all.

The sailing ship might be the Gorch Focke (spelling may not be correct), a training ship. Looks like it supposed to be in Norway. Still under sail today!

Christian Radich is a Norwegian sail training ship purpose built in 1937 and still operating. Gorch Fock was ceded to the Soviet Union after WWII, was briefly Ukrainian, and now is a museum ship at Stralsund. The Gorch Fock now sailing with the German navy was built in 1958 as a replacement. The original Gorch Fock's sister ship, Horst Wessel, is now USCG Eagle.

The Christian Radich kit dates back to the late 1970s or early 1980s, when Imai produced a series of 1/350 sailing ships. When Imai went out of business, Aoshima ended up with at least some (if not all) of Imai�s molds, and is apparently reissuing the kit, and repurposing it to its world war 2 form rather than its �Operation Sail� form.

HMS Shah was commisisoned in 1943 and is actually available in kit form (Skywave/Tamiya Bogue).

Hobbyeasy is showing Flyhawks HMS Kelly with a release date of April 15th and a limited edition version of Chung King with torpedo boat S-7 included.

-It is a late 1943 specification.

Actually if you say Dorset Shah three times fast, it won�t send you back to Kansas, but it would sound like a very cockney Dorsetshire.

I wouldn't mind a few of those S-Boats, but not if I have to buy A Chung King every time! Price looks very good, though! Speaking of prices...anybody notice a glaring price discrepancy? Kelly is USD 34.34, Galatea is USD 72.13, and Chung King (with bonus S-Boat) is only USD 24.44. Prices are all over the place!

Fujimi is a funny company. They continue to roll out their 1/200 Yamato in incremental pieces. It's almost tempting, to build section by section. Not overwhelming. Coming in late June (images courtesy of Hobbysearch Japan):

The Christian Radich has been a rare kit to find. Only released once before as I recall. Aoshima re-issued it again just last year as the original Sailing Ship and this year made this combo release.
Nice that they added a 1/350 S-100 class and a VIIc. All are water-line and I like full-hull. The individual models are available as full hull elsewhere and the price can be cheaper overall.

I will have to do some reading of WW2 History to see why these German Ships were added to the latest Christian Radich kit.
I could understand adding them to the Gorch Fock I (1933). Maybe Aoshima matched'em up wrong and it should have been Gorch Fock.

Christian Radich is a different ship than the German designed Gorch Fock, Mircea, Horst Wessel, and Albert Leo Schlageter

I did that reading. The Christian Radich WAS used by the Germans in WW2.

Looks like The Germans captured her in early 1940. She was turned over to the German Navy in 1941 and was to be used as a "repair ship" for E Boats (S-10 & S-100 class.)

There are 2 U-boats in the foreground.

Silly me bought the main battery some time back thinking it was a once off, then when I opened the box and found 3 turrets I didn't know what they were thinking, till later that is.

Hmmm..."Deck of the Month Club". And after they've completed their "incremental kit" program, Fujimi will release it as a complete kit for a far lower price.
