Source for resin and silicon for moulds in the UK

Post by Steve Hurrell »

Hi Folks,

Please help, I'm looking for a source for resin and silicon to do the moulds with from somewhere in the UK. I know there are a couple of you good folks here that cast your own stuff, where do you get it from and what do I need??????

I am looking at replicating some items I have for my 1/350 Nimitz build, only small items but I will need a load of them. I have the masters knocked up but just don't know where to start for getting the silicon and resin to knock them out.

Please help, I will be severely indebted to anyone who can point me in the right direction.

Thanks in advance and stay safe
Steve H

http://www.alumilite.com/

dont think they are based in the UK but they'll ship there. I've heard alot of good things about them, and they have starter kits too.
It's not who you are, but what you do that defines you.

Admiral, Sir,

You cast some of your own bits for your builds don't you? Is the above company where you get your resin and what-not from, or is there some where else I should be looking?

Your faithful blah blah blah....

There's Abrichem at Bristol....

Steve,

Can't remember when or who to, but I posted a similar message some time back. Anyway try:
Abrichem Composites Ltd
Unit 2 Heath Farm Estate, Ironmould Lane, Brislington, Bristol, Avon BS4 4FZ
Tel: 0117 977 1213

They have silicone rubber and resin. Worth phoning first to check that they have stock in.
