Looking for dwgs of 4-inch HA Mk XVI twin guns from Tribals

Post by gerritv »

Hi
I am looking for a copy of plans for the 4-inch HA Mk XVI Gun on Mk XIX and RP Mountings. John Lambert drew these up as drwaing L/0/49 (5 sheets). This gun unfortunately did not make it into the recently published British Naval Weapons of World War Two Vol 1 (which is a superb book of John's plans BTW)

I already have Norman Ough's version of the same gun, John's drawings are larger scale and clearer.

Willing to pay a reasonable fee.

Alternatively, does anyone know if plans exist in the book Naval Anti-Aircraft Guns and Gunnery by Norman Friedman? I know that there are 2 views in Campbell's Naval Weapons of World War Two.

I have a notion to build a largish scale model of this gun 1//24 or larger. I live 40 minutes from HMCS Haida so getting the details correct is very feasible.

Tribal class destroyers: Royal Navy and Commonwealth by Peter Hodges - it's out of print now, being published back in 1971 but it does have some good drawings of the various weaponry. The hardback edition has glossy paper pages and some colour diagrams of the weapon internals.

Pen & Sword confirmed that L/0/49 is in Volume II of British Naval Weapons, due for release in Aug 2019: https://www.pen-and-sword.co.uk/British ... ck/p/16412

That will end my search :-)
