There has recently been several new vendors (from China) some with interestingly low prices, but as they only have made a few sales, I suspect their validity, at least until they have made a couple hundred more positive sales.

I would not trust them. If it seems to good to be true, it probably is.

I've already had one run in with a fake store. After two weeks of inaction I called eBay and was refunded, the profile I had purchased from was terminated shortly thereafter.

Check their feedback, if they have many reviews from accounts with very few stars they may be trying to take money but never ship.

I have my seven or eight preferred stores - Sunlight/Aurora are among them. In my mind, those stores set the market value for a kit - anything more than 5 or 10% below them is probably fake.

Both Trumpeter's site (which is back btw) and Hobbysearch have Littorio sprue shots. Hobbysearch has also uploaded the manual.

It looks pretty much that same in terms of PE and kit design as the Roma which should be no surprise. I just hope it doesn't cost an arm and a leg. It is definitely going to need additional aftermarket.

IBG has announced on Facebook that their mid-May releases, among the planes and tank, include these:

70007 - 1/700 - ORP Garland 1944 G-class Destroyer
70012 - 1/700 - HMS Ithuriel 1942 I-class Destroyer

I expect Glowworm, Harvester, Hotspur and Ilex to follow pretty soon. These represent a holy grail for me.

While IBG's Hunt Class is very good (I have three of them), and could be as good as Trumpeter, they are nowhere near Flyhawk quality; not even with more PE! I upgraded the Hunts with Flyhawk weapons and bridge accessories - big improvement!

Didn't they promise to bring a 1/350 Iowa or Montana and never bring it to market?

Busto, you might be confusing them with Joy Yard, which promised to offer a better detailed version of the Iowa class in 1/350 but never panned out. Meanwhile, Very Fire has produced a large number of Iowa class (1/350) and Montana class (1/350, 1/700) kits. They're partnered with Blue Ridge Hobbies/Freetime Models.

The better time period would be as-built with the flying bridge midship for the boats

I personally had hoped for this early period - she looks much more "complete" than the stripped down version, and allows the rare builder to depict her in potential Ottoman service. The Jutland period, in any case, has been available as the Combrig kit for a number of years anyway.
