Great job on the funnel!

The deck looks good too! I wonder though, what are the advantages of pencil over a classic enamel or oil paint wash?

This deck took much longer than I had expected due to the great difficulty of hiding the seams. Making the planking look uninterrupted and rescribing areas that had to be sanded down were the biggest challenges:

Filling the seam, priming, sanding and rescribing not to mention tearing the paint up due to poor adhesion totaled 120 hours, much more than I had anticipated.

120 hours for the deck alone? Wow, so glad I'll be using the Pontos deck then...respect though!

Thank you guys. I think I finally got the 'look' of the lower hull right. I wanted to bring out the plating detail without overdoing it. Vallejo paint, some pencil and covering it again with the base coat of IJN Hull Red from WEM seemed to do the trick:
