Any thought by Pontos to do a detail up set for the '44-45 fit of the U.S.S. Missouri. I know this has been covered by other manufacturers, but not to the Pontos level of detail.

WWII Missouri is in final stage but we need addtional 5in twin turret with new rein part.
This result will make decision the relesing date for this WWII Missouri set.

Thank you
Keumho Kim

Great news! It appears that I am not alone in being in some strange way drawn to that particular ship. I don't know what it is about her, but whatever it is, she definitely has it! I've been debating making her my winter project, but if you are bringing out one of your sets for her I will definitely put her off until your offering hits the market. It might cost me a few body parts and my immortal soul (well, I'm not using it right now anyway - Oh Brother, Where Art Though?), but a small price to pay to truly dress up what will probably become a multi year project.

Thank you Mr. Kim for that great bit of news. Made my day!

Bob

Hi,

It seems the 35009F1 or 35011F1 set are not designed for the 1991 version (78029).
Because Pontos designed those sets for the New Jersey molds.

The 37018F1 fits the 1991 version 78029.

Question:
Has anyone tried to fit 35009 or 35011 on the 1991 version 78029?
What parts are problematic? Apart from the stern deck parts as mentioned by Kim.

Thanks for your help

Romain

Romain I used the Pontos 35011F1 on the Tamiya 78029 with no problems. I didn't even realize the pontos kit was designed for the New Jersey mold until after I finished.
In hindsight there might have been a couple of fit issues with the wood overlay but I just made a little trim and carried on and chalked it up to my own inexperience. (was my first pontos)
Just beware the instructions can be cryptic at times and need photographs to sometimes figure out.
Have fun

Hi Epsilon,

Thank you very much!

Sadly, I ended up to buy the Infini set...
I will compare to Pontos when i get it. And see if it is worth to resell it for the Pontos.

Features I like on Pontos are resin helos and PE helo decks.

In the other hand, Opened PE tomahawk in Infini set are nice too...

Thanks again

Romain

I think there was a way to make an open tomahawk launcher with the Pontos. It came with Veteran's resin launchers, but there were parts on the PE sheet I believe to modify the Tamiya launchers.
Don't hold it to me, but that is what I remember. Honestly there was ALOT of undocumented PE here that either I didn't use or figured out its use late in the game. Fully recommend going on Amazon and buying a few coffee table books on the subject matter.
