Post by Guest »

Hi guys, can anyone tell me what the aircraft/blimp looking things on the quarterdeck are called and if at all known, what color were they usually painted. I have no idea...

I hope this link works its a picture of what I'm talking about.

They're floats for minesweeping, also called oropesa.

This is probably the most comprehensive book on KfK (Kriegsfischkutter):

WALLE, H. [Ed.] (2014): Der Kriegsfischkutter. Vom Wachboot bis zur NORDWIND. Die Entstehung des KFK.- Sonderdruck des Arbeitskreises historischer Schiffbau e.V.: 119 p., Bonn (Kllen Druck+Verlag).

You can obtain copies from: https://www.arbeitskreis-historischer-s ... ikationen/

Or write me a PN, I am the president for this association and can arrange for your purchse.
