Trumpeter 1/200 Titanic

Post by Dadeo911 »

Hi all,

I have never done a review before so I apologize in advance.
The Trumpeter Titanic is just that, Titanic. I think my wife may kill me for getting this but until then I am a happy camper.

There are 15 sprues as well as 14 deck parts and 7 sheets of Photo Etched parts.
And a separate box for the lighting kit.

The lighting kit consists of 8 bags of components

A painting and marking guide with Mr. Hobby, Acrysion, Vallejo, Model Master, Tamiya and Humbrol Numbers

As you can see not all of the colors are given ID numbers or mixing options.
Something I did notice missing is color callouts for items such as the bands around the decks and the inside of the rails.

There is a 52 page 62 step building instruction booklet with several pages of photos and history of the Titanic herself

The instructions, at first glance appear to be well laid out with good photos to follow.

There is also a 16 page 79 step color instruction booklet for the lighting kit

The portholes (scuttles?) in the main hull are not drilled out and there is no lighting supplied for these, which is disappointing. But I guess that is up to the individual modeler to decide if they want to add them.

In the huge box is a link to an email to get a kit of additional set of brass parts and photo etched detail set.

I have ordered this set and once I receive it I will add this to the review.

Happy modeling!

I forgot to include a picture of the funnels. They aren't on a sprue so I missed them.

Great byline. Good review.

You've done well, young Jedi.
