can you help?

JM,

I could use some help on my 1/192 Gambier Bay, if you don't mind. I am having a hard time determining what the vertical part of the galley deck (catwalk?) looks like just in front of the fore most 40mm gun tub. The part against the hull directly under the flight deck.

I cant determine from the pictures I'm finding if it's solid like further aft or if it's a "girder" shape with lightening holes.

I hope this makes sence. Thanks in advance.

Thanks for your response.

I have looked there, I refer to Bills build very often but I still can't seem to get a good feel for how it's supposed to look. I have since found some great shots on the ???? Nav Source (I think it was) site of CVEs 76, 81 and 84 of this area.
