Hey, thanks, that's real handy. You're a good man to know!

. I hope this visit goes off okay. I'm in the hunt for photographs of the "Abdiel" class Crusier Minelayers, along with many other ships. I know they have a bunch of "Latona". I also have Ark Royal in my sights. I'll let you know how I made out when I get back.

Hi Bob I have one of Manxman for sale at the moment.

It's an early one and its large also at 8.5inch x 6.6inch.

I have 2 of the same image so I'm selling this one:-

I have the WEM 1/350 Abdiel, so if you have any decent pictures of any of the fast minelayers I'd love to know.

In spite of 3 funnels (a bit out of date number), that class of ships could
be for sure regarded as second to none concerning appearence

Yes, I agree, they were very handsome vessels. And more than that, they proved to be immensely useful in the type of naval war Britain found herself in. Laying mines, transporting troops and supplies at great speed. Reading "A Sailors Odyssey" Admiral of the Fleet Cunningham's memiors, he mentions this class of vessel often and with high regard for their usefullness to his command. I wish someone would have found their war service a good subject for a book, but haven't seen one yet. The Journal Warship had an article on their war service, but I noted alot of their operations got no mention. Including some minefields that did alot of damage to Italian forces during the Tunisa campaign.
