A question (request) for ARH

Hi Ron

Did you take any pictures while you were fibre glassing your Iron Duke. If you did would it be possible for you to post them please.

Thanks

See page one of the Iron Duke's build thread: http://www.shipmodels.info/mwphpBB2/vie ... php?t=3579

Page one covers the construction of the hull.

Thanks Timmy, but what I'm trying to see is how he layed the cloth on the hull before he wetted it out with the resin.

Hi this was the picture I posted on the build, it shows the very thin matting on the hull with the resin applied.
The matting is cut in sections at a time and resin applied to the hull, then the matting laid on top and with a brush more resin brushed and dabbed in to the matting, this strenghtens the balsa wood and leaves a good surface for the filla paste to adhere to.

I seemed to remember this stage of the build as though it were yesterday, doesn't time fly.

It will be nice to get back to the Marlborough, after the Vic's done. Hopefully about the end of September, which will take me through the winter. It should be done by this time next year.

unless you suddenly start another ship as you did with the carrier than the Marlborough won't be done than.

Nothing else to start on. So Marlborough will be next on the blocks and besides, I DO WANT TO GET Marlborough finished.
