Very nice. I'd love to have the room to build that kit.

Something you might want to check into.

Some of the Saturns had bare primer insulator (like on the Shuttle External tank) on the surface beneath the booster stage (before the engines).

So the underside would be a rust-red muddy texture.

My brother (an Ex-NASA Engineer) corrected me on that when I was in my late-20s (while he was at NASA).

And some of the Boosters had a greenish primer/insulator.

Image

Edit: Apollos 15/16 - 19 (This is the bottom of 18 you see here) had the green bottoms.

Apollo 11 and at least 12 painted the bottom of the rocket white (so if you are doing Apollo 11 mission, then you would have it right).

But if you are doing a pre-Apollo 11 (Apollo 4 - 10), then you might find either Red or White, depending upon the news coverage (only 10 was really known to have News Coverage, because that was SUPPOSED to have been the first attempt at the moon, but they lost it on lunar insertion).

As for 12 - 16.... 12 would have been white or Red, 13 would have been red, and the rest I am not sure of (I would need to run down to Johnson to check the photos).

That's a very nice collection of models you've got there, man! I'm envious of your talent...particularly for bogging armored vehicles in mud. :D

Wow!! That is some great work!!

Your vehicle weathering techniques are excellent as are your figure painting abilities!!! What colors/brands do you use for US fatigues / gear?

I especially like your Dauntless. The oh-so-simple-yet-effective ground plate really gives it speed!

Thanks guys, for the kind words.

I'm struggling to get out of the 'modeling dip' hoping posting some old stuff would bring back the urge to build again.

@Kelley, I found the image I made a while ago, realizing it might come in handy. It is a mix of Humbrol and Revell, although colors might vary due to weathering but it's basically what I use for all US equipment.

Thanks, Jeroen! This will come in handy! I will probably need to find an alternative to the Revell paints as I don't have them here.

W-Model 1/72 resin

Russian SA-12 surface-to-air missile system, combining anti-air and anti-tactical ballistic missile (ATBM) into a single overall system. The 9A82M carries the ATBM missiles. The anti-air missiles are carried by the 9A83 TELAR, but the 9A83 kit I received was unbuildable.

Some (space) ships and non-ships. I do have a small fleet of /350 and /700 that I plan to get to, but until then...

The most recent (space) ship to be finished was a Space Battleships Yamato model. Started out as the Yukikazi, but I changed it to the Murasame using the decals from another kit.

I always forget this thread is here. Over the past month I've finished the following two Bandai 1/72nd scale kits, the B-Wing (limited release Comic Con edition) and the X-Wing, finished as Wedge's Red 2.
