Is there a possibility for a 1/700 kit of Cleveland?

Currently, there is only the very old Pit-Road kit, which has a wrong hull (not tumblehome, wrong stern).

Without holding it I still think it's impressive. Plating looks very good from here. Looks like someone did their homework and is not tossing just another kit at us but something that really looks scale and accurate. Thank you.

I did notice the AC hanger has an opening so it looks as if you can display it open with a bird down below, just the way I been doing it for years.

Update on Cleveland's release schedule from Freetime's newsletter today:
We also wanted to give everyone that has preordered or is looking to order our 1/350 Blue Ridge Models Cleveland an update. The Cleveland is currently on the water on its way to us. We expect to have them sometime within the next 4 weeks or so. If you have not placed your preorder, be sure to go ahead and do so at $139.95, as the price will increase after we receive them.

Curiously, Very Fire 1/350s don't appear in the UK; I find this strange, as I will have to order the Atlanta from the US/Asia.

Hello,
you can order Veryfire kits from me, at least less shipping than from another Continent. Contact me if interested in an upcoming kit, as there is no preorder function in the shop.
Greetings,

Hi VeryFire , great kit indeed.
Whether a separate detail up set or a deluxe version of Cleveland should be expected?

Actually my colleagues had this idea, but they are in two minds about developing 1/700 Cleveland or 1/700 Midway.

In 1/700 I would rather have the Midways. Quite a few versions could be done from WWII through the retirement of Midway herself. Needed more then Cleveland even though a new kit would be nice. Also Veryfire do you have a release day for the 1/700 Des Moines yet? Really looking forward to that one.

The commission date of Midway does not change the fact it was a war built carrier and more then HMS Vanguard which was also a war built vessel. For me both are WWII ships.

Hi! You mentioned in another thread that the Atlanta class are in your plans. Are these the next 1/350 project? Or do you have any rough estimate (2021-2022?) as to when you think we may see these?

The different variants of the Midway would share few parts, e.g. the late version would have a different hull, flight deck, island, weapons, planes etc. etc. In addition, there is e.g. a very good kit of the late fit of Midway available in 1/700: by Orange Hobby.

There is no good 1/700 kit of the Cleveland class in their WW2 fit available.

I would still prefer the Midway's over Clevelands any day. If the want to produce a cruiser I would much prefer the Brooklyn's.

I've been hoping for a new WWII American cruiser like this in 1/350 scale for a long time. I placed my pre-order the other day. It was a big surprise when I saw the Cleveland but now also the Atlanta is in the works. Is it Christmas? Thank you VeryFire! :woo_hoo:

Sadly they screwed the hull design on the Atlanta and I suppose they will correct it ,so much more time to wait.

Hi Miguel, I have saw the topic and I will ask my colleague to correct it. Now we are focusing on the 1/700 Missouri kit, I estimate the 1/350 Atlanta kit won't be released in a short time.
